Dublin's net wages fourth highest in world

Net wage levels in Dublin have been ranked fourth highest in the world in a report published today by the Swiss bank UBS.

The bank says Dublin workers earn the 10th highest net wages of all 73 cities involved in the survey.

However, when taxes and other deductions are taken into account, net hourly wages in the Irish capital are lower only than those in Zurich, Geneva and New York.

The UBS report also shows that workers in Dublin have the fourth-strongest purchasing power, behind Zurich, Sydney and Luxembourg.

The figures are based on a survey conducted in March.
